In November 1987, Brian started at Green Mountain Power in South Burlington as the person who handled hourly load forecasting and system dispatch and tried to negotiate energy trades with others in the New England market. It was his position to optimize the availability of our electric resources against the available resources from other utilities in the area. Over the next 8 years, his responsibilities grew to include all markets including capacity, ancillary services, and others. Brian also became one of the persons interacting and responsible for the settlement with NEPOOL and other wholesale trading markets. In 1996, he joined Vermont Public Power Supply Authority, a public power entity and was charged with creating opportunities to expand their services to other utilities beyond their membership. As NEPOOL changed and evolved in the deregulated world, his position altered, and he again assumed responsibility for power supply, transmission, and interacting with the markets in Northeastern North America.
In May 2007, Brian founded and established Utility Services as an organization to help and assist Registered Entities within the Electric Reliability Organization (ERO). Since then, the company has grown to become a premier service company in compliance, reliability, and security. He continues to manage and foster the growth of the staff and the corporate entity.
