Joe is a recent addition to the USI team; having served the last ten years at SERC Reliability Corporation, in Charlotte NC. At SERC, his primarily focus was on reliability committees and subcommittees for both SERC and NERC. These included larger ERO committees (NERC’s Planning Committee and SERC’s Engineering Committees) as well as subcommittees targeted at protection and control, modeling, risk and reliability and vegetation management. As supervisor of the Reliability Services team at SERC, he oversaw all SERC technical committees, standards education and training (including system operators’ training and system restoration training). Joe was a recent contributor to the FERC/NERC/Regional Entity project on Black-start Resources Availability (BRAv).
Most of Joe’s career took place at Duke Energy focused on their generation fleet. He has also done utility consulting, domestically and internationally, directed at power generation reliability.
